The York County's Junior Miss Program is affiliated with America's Junior Miss, a nationwide scholarship program that has successfully opened the door of opportunity for young women since its beginning in 1958. It is the oldest and largest scholarship program for high school students in the United States.

In addition to receiving a significant scholarship award, York County's Junior Miss will represent the County at the Pennsylvania State Finals. Each of the 50 states sends a representative to the National Finals which are held each year in Mobile, Alabama.

The Junior Miss Program seeks to recognize, reward, and encourage excellence among young people in today's society by focusing on the achievements of outstanding high school girls.
