National Honor for York County Junior Miss Program
Posted On: 01/26/1997

The York County Junior Miss program received the 2007 Outstanding Local Program Award. The York County program was selected for this honor over more than 600 other local programs in the nation.

Nicole Noto, National Field Director of America's Junior Miss said York was recognized because of its success in spreading the Junior Miss motto-- emphasizing education by providing scholarship opportunities to outstanding, college bound high school girls, and to encourage personal development in all young people at the local level.

Lyn Bergdoll, President of York County Junior Miss said the award confirms that York county Junior Miss is continuing to offer the best opportunity for young women in the community. A big thank you goes to the eight main sponsors - Jack Giambalvo Motor Co, Chloe Eichelberger, York College, Bradley Lifting Co., Sovereign Bank, The Bon Ton, Stewart & Tate and Tighe Perform Group, and other local program sponsors who make possible the $30,000 in scholarship money offered each year. In fact, York County provides more scholarship money than any local program in the country.

Congratulations to all the local volunteers, Board of Directors, Sponsors and all of the intelligent, talented York County Junior Miss candidates each year.
